ARIZONA DOWNPAYMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
HOME Plus Program is a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage which can be used for down payment and or closing costs.
HOME Plus Program and the Down Payment Assistance (DPA) program may be combined and used for closing a mortgage loan which pairs with a down payment assistance grant equal to 4 percent of the mortgage amount. To qualify for this program, you have to be a borrower whose household income doesn’t exceed $88,340, and the total amount borrowed cannot exceed $353,360. For detailed specifications and assistance you MUST work through one of the AzHFA approved and participating mortgage lenders. Your lender will help you to obtain a program qualifying mortgage and registration for the down payment assistance grant.
HOME Plus Program allows a credit score of 640 and the U.S. Military personnel can be granted an additional 1% for the down payment assistance on ANY mortgage type. The mortgage loan offers you the possibility of purchasing an owner occupied, primary residence in Arizona. A homebuyer education course must be attended before closing. You may also take a pre-purchase course through an internet-based program developed by some mortgage insurance companies (MGIC or Genworth Financial).
HOME Plus Program allows Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, USDA – RD and VA mortgage types.
